Dear James Stevenson,
TfL Refs: FOI-4252-2324; FOI-4253-2324, FOI-4255-2324
Thank you for your requests received by Transport for London (TfL) on 16
February 2024 asking for information about communications for TfL,
Crossrail and the DLR.
Your 3 requests have been considered in accordance with the requirements
of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act and our information access
policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require.
However, in accordance with section 12 of the FOI Act, we are not obliged
to comply with a request if we estimate that the cost of determining
whether we hold the information, locating and retrieving it and extracting
it from other information would exceed the appropriate limit. This is
calculated at £25 per hour for every hour spent on the activities
described. Under Regulation 5(2) of the Data Protection and Freedom of
Information (Appropriate Limits and Fees) Regulations 2004, we are
permitted to aggregate requests where they relate to any extent to the
same or similar information and this aggregation applies to any requests
that are received within a sixty working day period.
We consider that the aggregate cost of complying with your 3 FOI requests
referred to above would considerably exceed the cost limit. To explain
further, you have asked 20 questions for each request, seeking information
on matters on communications for TfL, Crossrail and the DLR. A significant
amount of time and resources would be required to locate the information
from the relevant business area, identify and extract any relevant
information that would fall within the scope of your requests, and then
collate any relevant information we may hold to answer the 60 questions
you have asked in total.
To help bring the cost of responding to your request within the £450
limit, you may wish to refine the scope of your requests to focus on
matters that are of most importance to you so that we can more easily
locate, retrieve and extract the information you are seeking.
Please see attached for details of your right to appeal.
Yours sincerely,
Mary Abidakun
