Dear Stirling FOI,

Cheers Stuart, hoping you can answer a little follow up.

1) You never mentioned if the police are a common law office. Are the police a common law office?
2) Who is this oath made to?
3) Has the declaration been modified without informing the public? if so when and what was it modified to?
4) Who would provide the order for the modification, and under what authority?

Yours sincerely,

Mike Carrol

We're not sure what you mean by a 'common law office'?

What was supplied is the oath given by an officer on being appointed as a constable to Police Scotland.
http://www.legislation.gov.uk/asp/2012/8...

Please have a look at the above link, it states that it is the original version.

As far as the legislation is concerned, I would imagine that it would be a matter for the Scottish Government.

Hope that helps.

Regards
Stuart

An office is a description of a space, a position within an office. and that space within an office sanctified, the way that space is sanctified is for it to be circumscribed. Their positions are ecclesiastical. When the police arrest you? they are saying "l am using the powers of the devine to arrest you as you have broken the law of the land, common law" God's law such as thou shall not kill. If their positions aren't ecclesiastical? then how else could police arrest you? Therefore they must be within and hold a position within a common law office.
