"Universities have a general duty of care to their students - not to cause harm by careless acts or omissions – commensurate with their role and capabilities as settings for adult education" (Universities UK, 2023).

Please supply any internal or external university documentation that explains the nature and extent of this Common Law duty of care, placed on every member of staff, and owed to each enrolled student.

Having conducted a search of the RVC’s records, we can confirm that it
does hold information relevant to your request.

 

Our reponse:

The RVC do not have one particular document that explains it all to staff,
but duty of care is referred to in many policies, documents and guidance
throughout the RVC. This includes our RVC Charter, Health and Safety
policy and relevant student support policies and guidance. Information on

The RVC is satisfied that in making this response, it has complied with
the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act. If, for any reason,
