Dear Helen Cross
Your information request (1468)
Thank you for your information request of 4 June 2022.
I am writing as I wanted to let you know that the two most recent sets of
Remuneration Committee minutes falling within scope of your request have
not yet been agreed. Bearing this in mind, are you happy for us to exclude
these from the terms of your request, or would you like to request copies
of the draft minutes? Your advice would be much appreciated when you are
able.
Yours sincerely

Dear Helen
Your information request (1468)
I am writing to let you know that, although we had hoped to be able to
respond to your request by today, we will need additional time to consider
the balance of public interest.
Section 10(3) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 enables an authority
to extend the 20 working day limit up to a ‘reasonable’ time in any case
where it requires more time to determine whether or not the balance of the
public interest lies in maintaining an exemption.
In this case, the particular exemptions that we need to consider are:
- section 43(2) – commercial interests; and
- section 31(1)(a) – prevention and detection of crime.
We hope to be able to reach a final decision on the public interest by 29
June 2022 and I will be in touch as soon as possible with our decision.
I am sorry for any frustration which this additional delay may cause and I
would like to thank you for your patience.
Yours sincerely

Dear Helen Cross
Your information request (1468)
I am writing further to your information request in which you asked for:
· The minutes of any meetings of the Audit Committee that were
held during the 2021/22 financial year.
· The minutes of any meetings of the Remuneration Committee that
were held during the 2021/22 financial year.
You agreed that you were happy to only receive those minutes which had
been cleared internally at the time your request was made. Thank you for
this and your patience while we have prepared your response in line with
the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) and considered the balance of
public interest.
In addition to the information we are sharing with you, you can read more
about the work of the Audit and Remuneration Committees in 2021/22 in our
latest [1]annual report. The reports from the Committees can be found at
pp. 78-87.
We have uploaded the requested minutes to an online portal and you will be
able to access these using the details below for the next month:
Web address: [2]https://sftp.thecrownestate.co.uk/
Username: FOI2
Password: 4737k^339N92
Some parts of the minutes have been redacted on the basis of the following
exemptions:
· s31(1)(a) FOIA – prevention and detection of crime;
· s36(2)(b) and (c) FOIA – prejudice to the effective conduct of
public affairs;
· s40(2) FOIA – personal data;
· s43(2) FOIA – commercial interests.
More information about why these apply is included in the explanatory
annex available at the portal detailed above, which also details the
public interest test where applicable. In the same annex, you will also be
able to find a key to the acronyms used in the minutes. If anything is
unclear, please let us know.
I hope this information is helpful. However, if you are not satisfied with
the way we have handled your information request, you may appeal our
decision which will then be investigated through an internal review.
Beyond that, you have the right to refer any complaint directly to the
[3]Information Commissioner.
Yours sincerely
