Dear Councillor Lewis
Thank you for your enquiry in which you asked:
"Can you please advise if ANY costings or estimates of costings are held
by the Authority for the proposed Combined Active Travel Network, as
published on the Council's 'Have your say' portal."
We are unable to provide any information regarding potential Core Active
Travel Network costs as the schemes are currently being considered on as
part of a proposed strategic network, which is subject to consultation
responses and may result in changes to the scope, scale and phasing of the
network. Following consultation and any subsequent changes, the proposed
network will be subject to consideration by Environment, Climate Emergency
and Transport Committee. The proposed network has been identified to the
LCRCA as part of initial discussions regarding future schemes to
potentially be funded as part of the City Region Sustainable Transport
Settlement (CRSTS) 2027-2032 allocation. However, as this process is
ongoing and subject to independent review, at this stage no further
information can be shared given the potential influence that this could be
seen to have on the review process, which affects all Local Authorities in
the city region.
As with any capital project a business case is required which will assess
the costs alongside the benefits to inform a decision regarding value for
money.
Yours sincerely
