James Ascot made this Freedom of Information request to Nottinghamshire Police This request has been closed to new correspondence. Contact us if you think it should be reopened.

The request was successful.

Dear Nottinghamshire Police,

I am writing to request information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. I would like to know the number groupings for the collar numbers of officers within Nottinghamshire Police.

Specifically, I am requesting information on the starting numbers for the following ranks:

Constable - Sergeant
Inspector - Chief Inspector
Superintendent - Chief Superintendent
Gold Command / Senior Management
Please provide me with any relevant documentation or guidelines that Nottinghamshire Police has regarding the numbering system for collar numbers.

I would like this information to be provided to me in an electronic format. If it is not possible to provide the information in electronic format, please let me know, and I will be happy to receive it in another format.

If my request is denied in whole or in part, I request that you justify all deletions by reference to specific exemptions of the Act.

Yours faithfully,

James Ascot
