Code Of Conduct

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, South Wales Police should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear South Wales Police,

Today (26/09/2017 at 12.25pm) for and on the record, I was frogmarched out of Pontypridd Police Station by two policemen and was manhandled by one of them ( that is assault) though I was invited into a room by them to discuss my grievance. Why was this you may wonder?
Because I wanted to report a crime! The reason why the police took this approach is because the crimes were committed by other policemen.

I was then told not to come back (which they cannot do as the station is public property) and then aggressively told that if I did return they would do me for public nuisance.

So with this in mind, I would like the following information:-

1. Can police stop a member of the public attending a police station and if so, what are the regulations on that matter?

2. Can the reporting of a crime be classed as a public nuisance and if so, what are the parameters?

3. Are policemen allowed to lay hands on you when you are compliant and peaceable? If so, what are the grounds for laying hands on a peaceful man/ woman?

Just for clarity, I am allowed to put my request in question format.

Yours faithfully,

Mark Ritchie
