Thank you for your information request dated the 4th March 2020 regarding
CO2 emissions.  Your request has been handled under our country's own
legislation: the Environmental Information (Scotland) Regulations 2004.

How much have we generated since 2015 per year?

 

Emissions for the University’s UK campuses are published in our annual
climate change reports, which detail emissions by scope and are available
(for years from 2014-15)

Future plans and costs

 

Our current plans are contained in the University’s Carbon Management Plan
2014/15 – 2019/20, available

The University will define future plans and targets, for example toward
achievement of net zero emissions, in a new Climate Action Plan which is
currently in preparation and is due to launch later this year. Costing of
emission reduction delivery mechanisms will take place In parallel with
preparation of the new Climate Action Plan. The future plans are therefore
not presently available and so fall under exception: Regulation 10(4)(a):
information not held.

 

Your right to seek review of our decision

 

If you are not satisfied with our response or our reasoning set-out above,
you have forty working days from today in which to request a review of our
decision. Any request should be put in writing and should be sent to Ann
Jones, Head of Information Governance, at the address detailed at the
bottom of this email. The request should:

 

(a) detail your request for a review of our decision to be undertaken;

 

(b) describe the nature of your original request; and

 

(c) explain the reasons why you are dissatisfied with our response.

 

If you remain dissatisfied with how your request for information has been
dealt with, you also have the right to apply to the Scottish Information
Commissioner for a decision as to whether we have handled your request
