CMS communications with responsible ministers regarding parental mortality - 2nd attempt

The request was refused by Child Maintenance Service.

Dear Child Maintenance Service,

I made a request to you reference FOI2021/17965 which was refused on the grounds that you do not have the feature within the email package used by the CMS. However, the response to my more recent disclosure request, ref FOI2021/44236, confirms that MS Outlook is the email package that is in use across the DWP including CMS. As I pointed out in my original request, MS Outlook has a standard feature that can be utilised by the administrator for searching users emails by keyword/phrase, here is the documentation link once again https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microso....

Please confirm the following:

1. Why did you provide a reason for refusing the original FoI request (ref FOI2021/17965) that is clearly false?
2. Please now carry out the work required within the original request as it is apparent that you do indeed have the necessary facility required to provide this information using this standard search feature provided within MS Outlook, I have provided the details again below for the sake of clarity.

Please use the following search terms to identify the required communications.

Death
Mortality
Suicide
Died
Passed Away
Coroner

Please record results in a table in excel format as follows

Keyword/email count containing keyword

Please provide a copy of each email sent to or from any member of the senior leadership team including heads of department where any of the above keywords are found and including any external emails such as to ministers or DWP leadership regardless of their capacity.

Yours faithfully,

Brian Hudson
