Freedom of Information Request - RFI20211126
Thank you for your request to the BBC of 7 July 2021 seeking the following information
under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (‘the Act’):
I note the contents of the latest BBC Annual Report
(https://downloads.bbc.co.uk/aboutthebbc/reports/annualreport/2020-21.pdf) and in
particular the photographs of the Chairman and Director General shown on pages 10 and 12
respectively.
Despite their elevated positions in a multi-billion pound international organisation with
influence across the globe, I note that neither gentleman is wearing a tie and both sport a
casual jacket and open neck shirt. Mr Davie in particular has previous form in this regard.
Can you tell me, please, if the BBC provides any clothing allowances to Messrs Sharp and
Davie and, if so, what sums are involved?
The BBC can confirm that neither Tim Davie or Richard Sharp receive a clothing allowance.
The BBC publishes details of salaries, expenses, gifts, hospitality and declaration of personal
interests for all senior leaders who earn £150,000 or more per year, as well as for all
