Clinician mobile access to ambulance control systems

Liam Shields made this Freedom of Information request to South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust

Automatic anti-spam measures are in place for this older request. Please let us know if a further response is expected or if you are having trouble responding.

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust,

Do any clinicians within your Ambulance Service have mobile access to the data held within your ambulance control rooms, specifically the list of waiting and active emergency calls in their area at times when they are mobile within the community? (ie not at a fixed desktop location such as an office, base or Control Room).

If yes:
What software is used to facilitate this?

What hardware is used (ie tablet, laptop, vehicle terminal)?

What connectivity is used (ie mobile phone, wireless hotspot, in-built SIM card, vehicle hotspot)?

Do any specialist, advanced or managerial resources use this information to self-allocate to waiting emergency incidents that are appropriate for their skill set? If yes, which groups of clinicians have this ability?

Can you provide any associated Policy documents that relate to the above questions?

Yours faithfully,
Liam Shields
