The Trust has a robust safe staffing programme in place to ensure that all
clinical areas are appropriately staffed to provide high quality care.
The Trust runs an in-house bank which provides the majority of nursing
staff requested. When the staff bank is unable to fill a shift, external
agencies from an NHSE/I approved framework are used to ensure safe
staffing levels are maintained.  There are however, times when the
approved frameworks are unable to supply a nurse.  On these occasions the
Trust will approach off agency frameworks to ensure that safe staffing is
maintained.  The decision to utilise these agencies is taken by a senior
nurse,  on the basis of patient safety approximately 12 to 48 hours prior
to the shift.

Please help us to improve our FOI service by completing a short
[1]questionnaire.
