Thank you for your request for information that was received by Hereford &
Worcester Fire and Rescue Service (the Service) on 08 March 2017, which
has been considered under the [1]Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA). 

 

The Service can confirm information regarding Clinical Governance of the
medical supplies is held, as detailed below:

 

·         The Service’s equipment and all the training packages are
clinically governed by Dr Hall, chair of the Faculty of Pre Hospital Care,
which is part of the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh.

 

·         The medical kit carried on fire appliances is as a result of
military research that was carried out by the Service and crews train to
the National D13 standard.

 

·         Trauma training delivery is undertaken by the Service’s Trauma
Instructors and each unit receives input quarterly on a rolling programme.
