Climate Emergency Declared in Hampshire

At the reference address you will find a response to an FOIR I originally submitted to Hampshire County Council (HCC). My request was for the rationale for HCC's declaration in June 2019 of a 'Climate Change Emergency' and their statement that the "biggest threat to our environment and way of life is climate change".

HCC's response stated that the emergency in the county was solely based on "advice and guidance directly from National Government and other globally recognised experts
like the Committee on Climate Change". Given that the CC is identified by HCC as the source of their advice and guidance, alongside "National Government", I am writing to request this information from your organisation.

Given that an emergency is widely defined as "serious, unexpected, and often
dangerous situation requiring immediate action", please provide the evidence provided by the CCC, directly or indirectly, to HCC underpinning the latter's contention that an emergency arose in June 2019 in the county of Hampshire, directly resulting from long-term changes in the pattern of weather (i.e. Climate).
