Is the Crime, policing act of 2014 linked to or the same as the client of concern register(CCR) – No - the Act relates to public anti-social disorder actions and banning orders, which are awarded by a court. The CCR is a council resource used to assist our staff plan work activities in a manner that helps protect them from violence and aggression.
Did (the client of concern register), come into effect March 2014? – No, the clients of concern register has been in existence since 2004.
Lastly can a person be placed on the (CCR) retro- actively for offenses they were alleged to have been involved in, in previous years prior to the (CCR), Crime Policing Act of 2014 ? – No. A person can only be placed on the CCR after a documented reported incident involving BHCC staff or our partners. Information from the police can be used to place someone on the CCR if they have relevant current information about a member of public that we are likely to come into contact with; and their information is also used when reviews of people on the CCR take place.
