Dear Mr Bradley

Thank you for your email. I can confirm that my last response was correct and did relate to Clayton Tunnel in West Yorkshire, which was sold by the former British Railways Board Limited.

Dear Highways England Company Limited,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of the handling of the FOIR made by myself on the 5th February 2018. HE Ref: CRS-759290. A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available at the following address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/c...

I am making this request for the following reason/s...

In relation to a FOIR made by myself on the 19th December 2017 to Highways England also via ‘Whatdotheyknow’, HE ref: CRS-757486, a copy of which can be found at the following address:
https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/d...

I was informed that Clayton Tunnel, with its identified location of ‘Bradford’ is one of the 157 tunnels which are inspected and maintained by Highways England on behalf of the Secretary of State for Transport.

On the 12th February 2018 in relation to a FOIR made by myself on the 19th December 2017
HE ref: CRS-757893, a copy of which can be found at the following address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/t...
in response to a request for clarification from myself...

I was informed that: “It is the combined total of 169 tunnels which are currently in the ownership of the Secretary of State for Transport.”

In response to a request for a review made by myself on the 13th February 2018 into the response I received on the 5th December 2017 regarding HE ref: CRS-757893, that I received on the 19th March 2018. Highways England failed to explain why Clayton Tunnel was included within a list of 157 railway tunnels that it is claimed are owned by the Secretary of State for Transport.

I am therefore of the opinion that Clayton Tunnel is owned by the Secretary of State for Transport and that Highways England holds the information as to the proposals/plans for this former railway tunnel.

Yours faithfully
MBradley
