Classic Compatible Journey Times.

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, High Speed Two (HS2) Limited should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear High Speed Two (HS2) Limited,

Please provide me with the projected journey times for the following trips using captive HS2 and classic compatible services, as is expected to be provided within the current £55.7bn funding envelope within the current project scope, and without any additional expenditure. I wish to be very specific that you should not include any assumptions for any additional expenditure on transport infrastructure outside the £55.7bn HS2 budget envelope in responding to this request. if it will not be possible to complete a proposed journey solely on hs2 trains within the provision of the current £55.7bn budget envelope, please make this clear. Please also provide the assumptions you have used for the fastest existing direct services for these journeys.

This may seem like a long list, but I would expect that given that a big deal is being made of the fact HS2 trains would serve 25 cities (though of course many aren't cities, but we'll let that one slide), that you must have this data easily available, probably in table form, already.

Dear HS2Enquiries,

Thank you for your reply, which does absolutely nothing whatsoever at all to answer my question. I have specifically asked for journey times which you have not published, so pointing me to published journey times was a pretty shameless attempt to pretend that you.

Your insistence that "The final HS2 timetable is subject to revision and consultation as HS2 Ltd, the Government, the rail industry and a future franchisee work together to provide the best solutions for the
rail network as a whole." is either not credible, or it means the journey times you have published from London to Liverpool; Newcastle and Edinburgh/Glasgow must be incorrect, as I have almost exclusively asked for journey times on HS2 trains on current lines, i.e. places the trains will stop on the way to Newcastle, Liverpool and Glasgow/Edinburgh. So it cannot be that you know how long it will take to get to the end destination, but not places on the way.

Additionally, there were a number of journeys which I do not believe HS2 trains will go between. I have included them, because I believe people are being misled into thinking HS2 would do so, such as going from Lancaster to Liverpool or Manchester. Again, It is my belief that you know this to be the case and have simply ducked answering the question.

Yours sincerely,

Joe Rukin
