Clarification of Dominic Cummings absence from work from 27 March 2020 to 14 April 2020.

The request was partially successful.

Dear Cabinet Office,

Please provide information as follows:

1) Although Dominic Cummings is not employed by the Civil Service, he has a contract of employment of some sort presumably. What does that provide in relation to sick leave, or absences from work?

2) What information was imparted by him in relation to his absence from work from 27 March 2020 (when he was seen running out of 10 Downing St) and 14 April 2020?

3) Did he call in sick?

4) Given the situation in that he considered he and his wife had Covid 19, what steps were taken concerning his return to work?

5) What instructions were issued when it was known that he and his wife had Covid 19 symptoms?

Yours faithfully,

John Golding

Dear FOI Team Mailbox,

I refer to my FOI request which was made to you on 1 June 2020. You acknowledged this on the same date and gave a reference number of: FOI2020 06969.

The response is now overdue and you are requested to provide the information by return.

Yours sincerely,

John Golding

Dear Cabinet Office,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Cabinet Office's handling of my FOI request 'Clarification of Dominic Cummings absence from work from 27 March 2020 to 14 April 2020.'.

This FOI request was made on 1 June 2020. It has a reference number of FOI 2020 O6969.

I sent you a reminder on 29 July 2020. You have failed to respond to this and it is now long overdue. Please provide the information requested without further delay.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/c...

Dear FOI Team Mailbox,

This case is now long overdue as the original request was made on 1 June 2020. This was acknowledged on 1 June 2020 and you allocated a reference number of FOI2020/06969. In view of the absence of a reply, let alone information, I sent you a reminder on 29 July 2020. Once again you failed to comply with the FOI Act so this was followed by a request for Internal Review on 21 August 2020. There is still no response from you.

There is a legitimate public interest in putting the information in the wider domain. It is clear that there is some reason for failing to provide this and it can only be concluded that there is something to hide. This seems to be the norm where Dominic Cummings is concerned.

Failure to provide the information will be pursued by all means available.

Yours sincerely,

John Golding

Dear FOI Team Mailbox,

It is with concern that I note you have persisted in failing to reply to the FOI Act request which was made to you on 1 June 2020. This applies to the request for Internal Review which was made on 21 August 2020.

It is poor for a government department to fail to comply with the FOI Act. Then the present government has a policy of failing to be held to account.

Unless you provide the information requested within 14 days from today's date, this will be referred to the ICO.

Yours sincerely,

John Golding
