Date of request: 09/02/2021
Title of request: City Owned Housing

Dear Suzanne Kelly,

Thank you for your information request. We have completed the necessary
search for the information requested. Our response is now detailed below.

As at today's date, please advise:-

1. the number of dwelling places - ie council flats, council houses,
social housing - owned and/or operated by the city

As of 17th February 2021 Gross Stock Total: 22,022

2. of these properties identified in No. 1 above, how many are currently
empty / unoccupied.

630

3. of the properties identified in No. 2 above, how many are habitable.

540

4. of the properties identified in No. 3 above, how many people could be
homed.

current Scheme of Allocations accounts for different household

link below for more information.

5.  Please supply the spreadsheet (as per previous FOIS) showing ALL
property the city owns as of today's date.

A list of non-housing property holdings is listed on the Council's website
at
[2]https://www.aberdeencity.gov.uk/sites/de...
. The attached - Property List for Website is a spreadsheet version of
this.

We are unable to provide you with information a list of
residential/housing ACC owned properties as it is exempt from disclosure.
In order to comply with our obligations under the terms of Section 16 of
the FOISA, we hereby give notice that we are refusing your request under
the terms of Section 35(1)(a) – the prevention or detection of crime - of
the FOISA (Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002).

In making this decision we considered the following points:

To explain this, ACC is of the view that releasing a list of residential
council owned properties (addresses) in Aberdeen would, or would likely
to, prejudice substantially the prevention or detection of crime. Any
information released under the FOISA by ACC is released into the public
domain and published on our online Disclosure Log. As such, we have to
consider the potential consequences of releasing this information in the
format requested. Disclosing a list of properties would enable any persons
interested in committing a crime or theft or damage to identify accurately
the properties which are council owned and possibly vacant. As a result,
disclosure of this information would impact on crime prevention and any
subsequent Police investigations.

We handled your request for information in accordance with the provisions
of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.

If you are dissatisfied with the way we have handled your request or the
content of it, you are entitled to ask for an appeal. You can do this from
your [3]Aberdeen City Council self service account.

For more information on your right to review, please visit [4]Freedom of
Information Review and Appeals.

We hope this helps with your request.

Kind regards
