City Centre Enforcement Officers not wearing identification
Dear Peterborough City Council,
There have been social media posts in Peterborough including images of City Centre Enforcement Officers on patrol who are not wearing identification.
It is a legal requirement that they wear their Security Industry Association (SIA) licences.
They are also issued with Peterborough City Council ID badges and lanyards which they are also not wearing.
Please provide copies of any communication including emails , reports , minutes of any meetings concerning the failure to wear identification including communication with Carter Security who provide the contracted security staff for this role.

Dear Peterborough City Council,
There have been social media posts in Peterborough including images of
City Centre Enforcement Officers on patrol who are not wearing
identification.
It is a legal requirement that they wear their Security Industry
Association (SIA) licences.
They are also issued with Peterborough City Council ID badges and lanyards
which they are also not wearing.
Please provide copies of any communication including emails , reports ,
minutes of any meetings concerning the failure to wear identification
including communication with Carter Security who provide the contracted
security staff for this role.
The officers in the image are employed by Peterborough City Council and
are not security officers, as such they do not require SIA. Both
individuals have appropriate local authority ID to enable them to
undertake their duties. As the service is a Peterborough City Council
service, there have been no discussions on this issue with an external
provider. Please note, the service returned to the council in May 2023
