City Centre Access

We're waiting for Antony Carpen to read recent responses and update the status.

Dear Greater Cambridge Partnership,

The Director of Transport, Peter Blake, did not answer my public question in full at the recent GCP Board Meeting on 01 July, which asked what happens to the busway buses when they got to Cambridge. Given existing traffic, stating that they will join the existing bus network is not a good enough answer.

Therefore I'd like to make the following request for information:

Please could you confirm you hold information on meetings the GCP has held with either Stagecoach or Whippet representatives from the dates: 01 July 2019 - 01 July 2021.

Please could you confirm you hold drawings, sketches, images, diagrams, maps or similar regarding city centre access, last updated between 01 July 2019 - 01 July 2021.

Please could you release the minutes of those meetings, or summaries of those meetings where no formal minutes exist

Please could you release copies of the sketches, images, diagrams, maps or similar regarding city centre access that you hold, last updated between 01 July 2019 - 01 July 2021.

Yours faithfully,

Antony Carpen

Hello Information Governance Team

My request refers to the Greater Cambridge Partnership's "City Centre Access" project at https://www.greatercambridge.org.uk/city...

"To tackle the current and forecast increase in traffic, congestion and pollution in and around Cambridge city centre, the GCP’s City Access project is working to improve public transport and offer people better choices for their journeys."

This is essentially the toughest challenge the Partnership has to face - the 'last mile' of public transport journeys into Cambridge city centre. This links *very specifically* with the GCP's two busway projects - Cambourne to Cambridge, and Cambridge South East Transport.

What I want to know more about is whether the GCP (and through it, the constituent councils) have had any substantive conversations with Stagecoach in particular about what happens to the proposed busway buses when they reach the city centre. If officials and board members have had conversations about what will happen to the buses I'd expect to see plans, sketches, and proposals on where the buses could go onto.

Kind regards

Antony Carpen
