Dear cicregulator,

As was requested in my original submission, I would like this data for each of the periods covering the 2018/19, 2019/20, and 2020/21 financial years for the Office of the CIC Regulator. Per the annual report, your Financial Year ends 31st March, so this is April 1st 2018-March 31st 2019, April 1st 2019-March 31st 2020, and April 1st 2020-March 31st 2021.

For example of the information provided by a similar public body, you can review the annual report of the Charities Commission at the following link https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk... on pages 47-50 for board members and 53-54 and 57-58.

Given that the information requested by the Office of the CIC Regulator for clarification was provided in the initial submission, the provision of this information will not delay the original statutory deadline for provision of these data.

Yours sincerely,

B Treloar

Dear The Regulator of Community Interest Companies,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of The Regulator of Community Interest Companies's handling of my FOI request 'CIC Regulator - Number of Staff'.

The response indicates that all staff are employed by the BEIS, and as such the Office of the CIC Regulator does not hold this information.

However, the annual reports of the Office of the CIC Regulator track overall expenditure, which must include staff costs or be meaningless. As such, either the costs of the Office of the CIC Regulator’s accounts underestimate the true cost of the department, or these financial data are recorded by the Office of the CIC Regulator

Furthermore, as the Office of the CIC Regulator have previously used this reasoning to evade questions on this topic, the Department for BEIS were asked for this information in a parallel request. They provided the following response:

“For the purposes of the FOI Act the CIC Regulator who work with BEIS is considered a public authority in its own right. Any request for recorded information held by the CIC Regulator should be submitted to them directly”

Finally, the provision of information
As such, it is both my view and the view of the Department for BEIS that this information should be provided by the Office of the CIC Regulator.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/c...

Yours faithfully,

B Treloar
