Christmas tree recycling

We're waiting for Claire Gamble to read recent responses and update the status.

Dear North London Waste Authority,

I would like to know:

How many real Christmas trees were thrown out and collected from households in your authority after Christmas 2017?

Did you carry out this service in-house or did you outsource it?

How much did it cost to carry out this service?

Yours faithfully,

C Gamble

Dear Ms Gamble,

RE: Information Request – Ref. 2018-09

Thank you for your request of 18 September entitled ‘Freedom of
Information request - Christmas tree recycling’

Your request was for the following information:

How many real Christmas trees were thrown out and collected from
households in your authority after Christmas 2017?

Did you carry out this service in-house or did you outsource it?

How much did it cost to carry out this service?

NLWA Response

This request is being handled under the Environmental Information
Regulations (EiR) 2004 and has been allocated the reference number
2018-09[2]^^[1]. In response to your questions please find below the
following information:

North London Waste Authority (NLWA) is the waste disposal authority for
seven boroughs – Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Hackney, Haringey, Islington and
Waltham Forest. As such, we do not collect the waste from north London
households – our role is to process it. Consequently we do not hold any
information about how many real Christmas trees were thrown out and
collected from households across north London after Christmas 2017.

We do not hold any information about whether the collection of real
Christmas trees was carried out in-house by boroughs or outsourced and we
have no information about the cost of this service. Accordingly this
response acts as a refusal notice under the EiR - Regulation 12 (4): (a)
The Authority does not hold the information.

We apologise that your request will not be met but if you have any further
information needs in the future then please contact us.

You have the right of appeal about our response and if you wish to appeal
please look at our website

scrolling down the section entitled ‘ what happens if I am not happy?’ for
further guidance.

Yours sincerely,
