Dear Mr Johnson

Case 5758717

I am writing to you about your request relating to Childrens Social
Services - LD & EBD Placements. which we received on 7 November 2019.

I have just met with our Placements Team who are responsible for
extracting and compiling the data you have requested to see how they are
progressing. I was informed that your request is requiring complex data
manipulation which demands a considerable amount of dedicated staff time.
This work has not yet exceeded our compliance limit of 18 staff hours
(provided by Section 12 of the Freedom of Information Act), but it is
quite possible that it will do so.  I have therefore asked the responsible
official to calculate how much more time it would take her to answer all
of your questions (basing this on reasonable estimations for individual
stages).

If her estimated total exceeds 18 staff hours, then Section 12 allows us
to apply an exemption from our obligation to provide you with the
requested information (which will be explained further in a full refusal
letter)

If not, we shall keep going with the work, and endeavour to respond before
the deadline of December 5^th 2019.

You may like to take this opportunity to limit the breadth, and/or the
number, of questions included in your request, as limiting the demands for
data will naturally increase the likelihood of staying within the FOIA
required time limits.

If you do intend to narrow down your request, please let me know as soon
as possible by reply to this email.

Thank you

Yours sincerely
