Children Families & Wellbeing FOI, Trafford Metropolitan Borough Council

Dear Mr Gaffney,

I am writing in response to your Freedom of Information Request (FOI 9410)
dated 08 June 2020.

Please see Council’s response below;

The information you have requested is not readily accessible and would
require a manual trawl of around 300 files which we received per monthly
from the police. To retrieve this information it is estimated it would
take over 18 hours to go through each individual cases which relate to
Children's Services & Threat to Life Warnings.

Notice of Refusal Issued under Section 12, Freedom of Information Act,
(2000)

Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, Trafford Council has a duty to
supply any information on request, unless there is an exemption. For this
FOI request, it is estimated that the time taken would be in excess of the
statutory 18 hours’ time limit because we do not hold the information in
the format requested. To produce this information it would require an
officer to manually access and identify  individual placements for the
number of young children. Therefore in this instance, the following
absolute exemption applies to some of the information you have requested,
Notice of Refusal Issued under Section 12, Freedom of Information Act,
(2000).

I hope this is helpful however if you are dissatisfied with the handling
of your request, you have the right to ask for an internal review.
Internal review requests should be submitted within two months of the date
of receipt of the response to your original letter and should be addressed
to: Information Governance Manager, Trafford Council, Town Hall, Talbot
Road Stretford M33 0TH or via email to
[1][Trafford Council request email]

Please remember to quote the reference number above in any future
communications.

If you are not content with the outcome of the internal review, you have
the right to apply directly to the Information Commissioner for a
decision. The Information Commissioner can be contacted at: Information
Commissioner’s Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9
