Dear Wirral Metropolitan Borough Council,

1.Please could you share which teams have moved from Wirral Borough council to the NHS in the last 6 months.

2.Please could you share what teams are planning to move to the NHS in future.

3. What arrangements have been made to inform clients that social workers for the children with disabilities team no longer work for Wirral Council and their email addresses ending wirral.gov.uk are no longer valid? How many families does this affect?

4. What is the new structure for this team?
A) who is responsible for service delivery?
B) Who will be responsible for payments of personal budgets and direct payments.

5. Has the access criteria changed for the children’s with disability team now they are an NHS service?

6. What consultation has been carried out about the move the health?

7. Is the children with disabilities team now a private service under an NHS umbrella, could you please explain the relationship between Wirral Borough council and the NHS?

We write further to your recent Freedom of Information request in which
you asked about children’s services moving to the NHS. Please see below
our response embedded within your original enquiry.

 

 

1.Please could you share which teams have moved from Wirral Borough
council to the NHS in the last 6 months.

 

Mental health team

Integrated disability team

Children with disability team

 

2.Please could you share what teams are planning to move to the NHS in
future.

 

No further planned moves in relation to CYPD.

 

3. What arrangements have been made to inform clients that social workers
for the children with disabilities team no longer work for Wirral Council
and their email addresses ending wirral.gov.uk are no longer valid? How
many families does this affect?

 

All families receiving a service within scope were informed in writing of
the service transferring on 17 August 2018.

Wirral.gov.uk e-mail accounts will continue to be valid up until 19
September 2018 – after this they will display an out of office message
providing the staff members CWP e-mail address.

 

4. What is the new structure for this team?

 

The team structure remain the same with the exception of the reporting
line for senior managers.

 

 A. who is responsible for service delivery?

 

Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust with contract
management by the Council

 

 B. Who will be responsible for payments of personal budgets and direct
payments.

 

Direct payments team remains in the Council

 

5. Has the access criteria changed for the children’s with disability team
now they are an NHS service?

 

No

 

6. What consultation has been carried out about the move the health?

 

A public survey in relation to All Age Disability and Mental Health
Service was open from 01/08/2017 to 31/10/2017.

 

7. Is the children with disabilities team now a private service under an
NHS umbrella, could you please explain the relationship between Wirral
Borough council and the NHS?
