Could you please provide the following details regarding your
children’s centre management IT system and/or children’s social
care IT system?
For clarification purposes, please provide these details in a two-fold answer, one for your children’s centre management IT System and the other for your children’s social care IT system:
• Who is the current supplier of this system and what is the system’s name?
• When did the contract with this supplier begin, and when is it
due for renewal?
• Have you ever had other suppliers for this system? Which ones and with what systems?
• How many licenses are you currently paying for?
• How much is the total cost of the contract p.a. (including support and
maintenance)?
• Are you able to nullify the contract for specific modules (e.g.
eStart)?

With regard to Children’s centres management IT system
1. Who is the current supplier of this system and what is the system’s
name?
Shropshire Children’s Centres use the Estart database to manage and
monitor data
requirements – this database is provided and supported by Capita.
2. When did the contract with this supplier begin, and when is it due for
renewal?
The database became operational in the Summer of 2012. A one year contract
extension has been approved to March 2015.
3. Have you ever had other suppliers for this system? Which ones and with
what
systems?
Yes, previously SoftSmart was used to manage Children’s Centre data. A
bespoke,
in house monitoring database was also in use.
4. How many licenses are Shropshire Council currently paying for?
It is a site licence so unlimited users.
5. How much is the total cost of the contract p.a. (including support and
maintenance)?
The total cost of the contract per year is £13,773.
6. Are you able to nullify the contract for specific modules (e.g.
eStart)?
No
With regard to Children’s social care IT system
1. Who is the current supplier of this system and what is the system’s
name?
OLM Systems
2. When did the contract with this supplier begin, and when is it due for
renewal?
01/04/2004
3. Have you ever had other suppliers for this system? Which ones and with
what
systems?
No
4. How many licenses are Shropshire Council currently paying for?
1,100
5. How much is the total cost of the contract p.a. (including support and
maintenance)?
£117,000 per year
