Children under care of the Health Visitor needing extra support
Dear East London NHS Foundation Trust,
Would you please be so kind as to provide the numbers of children
under the age of 5 years under the care of the Health Visiting Service during each of the years 2006-2011 who:
1. Had a Child Protection Plan
2. Were identified as 'Children in Need'
3. Were identified as 'Children with Special Needs'
4. Were identified as living in families/homes where at least one
adult was identified as needing extra support.

Dear Chowdhury Halima,
Surely in order to manage the Health Visiting Service safely and to ensure that Health Visitor resources are used equitably, regular annual reviews of the Health Visitor caseloads are conducted? At least the first two categories and arguably the third category should be reviewed three monthly as part of Child Protection Supervision. Is this not happening? Data which indicates these exercises are occuring should surely be available.
