Children living with an addicted parent

Kayleigh James made this Freedom of Information request to Care Quality Commission

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

This request has been withdrawn by the person who made it. There may be an explanation in the correspondence below.

Dear Care Quality Commission,

I am interested in figures relating to children being cared for by a parent who has a serious addiction to alcohol or drugs.

I would like to know how many families have had intervention from the social and how many children are needed to be placed in care whilst their parent recovers.

I would also like to know if there are any procedures currently in place to check on families who have had such difficulties, on a regular basis to ensure that children are being kept safe.

Yours faithfully,

Kayleigh James
