Children forcibily sent to Southern Rhodesia between in the 20th century

The request was partially successful.

Dear Department of Health and Social Care,

I am writing to ask if you can confirm:

a) How many children were sent forcibily and unaccompanied to Southern Rhodesia (Zimbabwe) as part of British government policy (in partnership with charitable organisations) in the 20th Century

b)How many of these children were sent to Southern Rhodesia (Zimbabwe) between 1945 and 1970?

c) Can you please tell me if you are aware how many of these children sent to Southern Rhodesia (Zimbabwe) are still alive?

d) If you cannot answer the above questions, can you confirm you have any records on these children?

e)Has any contact ever been made between any of these children (now adults) and your department?

Regards,

Michael House
