Which authority is responsible for making sure that independent schools like Culford School, Suffolk follow student welfare and child protection procedures?

Durell, Independent Schools Inspectorate

Dear Ms Watts,

Thank you for your enquiry about student welfare and child protection. All
schools are regulated by the Department for Education. Independent schools
are subject to the Independent School Standards Regulations and, as
appropriate, the National Minimum Standards for boarding welfare, and the
Early Years Foundation Stage statutory requirements. ISI reports on
compliance with these regulations when it inspects schools.

Yours sincerely,

Durell Barnes
