Child Benefit - Online Claims Process
Dear HM Revenue and Customs,
'Claim Child Benefit online'
Please provide any documents/policies which determine which Child Benefit claims can and can't be made online, and what the possible outcomes are (i.e. claim made, claimant to print and sign the declaration etc). Please confirm which Child Benefit claims cannot be taken online, and in what circumstances you would need to send paper claim forms to the claimant.
Thank you for your consideration.
Yours faithfully,
Jenny Papworth

Dear Information Rights Unit,
Please can you confirm whether this was the position in March 2024?
A number of our clients claimed online but you have no record of these claims. We have submitted Subject Access Requests for the online claim and there is no history.
In March 2024, was it possible that some customers would have been trying to claim online but the HMRC system would have just said they would send them a paper claim form instead?
Thank you in advance.
Yours sincerely,
Jenny Papworth
