Dear Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse,

Will the IICSA be investigating the involvement of officers from North Wales Police and members of Freemasonry in North Wales (and elsewhere) in the horrific child abuse that continued for decades in the care homes, plus various other institutions in North Wales?

Has evidence been taken concerning this?

Will the involvement of people from these groups be covered up yet again? There have been a number of inquiries etc over the years but none of these has dealt with this honestly.

Yours faithfully,

Caroline Airley

Dear Ms Airley,

Thank you for contacting the Inquiry via email on 25 August with your
query about whether the Inquiry will be investigating North Wales Police,
members of Freemasonry and various other institutions in North Wales.

Investigations

As you may be aware, the Inquiry has launched 14 investigations into a
broad range of institutions identified on the basis of the [1]Panel’s
criteria for selection of investigations. The Panel sought to balance the
investigation of non-recent allegations of abuse with urgent, contemporary
issues of child protection. The 14 investigations will enable the Inquiry
to piece together a broad picture of how institutions have failed to
protect children from sexual abuse across the five workstreams of the
Inquiry: that is, failures by local authorities; failures in the areas of
criminal justice and law enforcement; in education and religion; in
national and private service organisations; and in relation to alleged
abuse by persons of public prominence. You can follow the progress of the
investigations at: [2]https://www.iicsa.org.uk/investigations

The Inquiry is required to take into account the work of other inquiries
and we have noted the report of [3]The Macur Review.  Also, we have heard
evidence relating to North Wales Children's Homes in our Accountability
and Reparations investigation, which published its [4]case study report
last week.

Thank you once again for contacting the Inquiry and I hope that you find
the above information useful.

Yours sincerely,

Dear [email address],

Judging from the contents of your reply, I think we can take it that this so called "investigation" will be yet another cover up and whitewash.

Yours sincerely,

Caroline Airley
