Dear Freedom of Information,
Thank you for providing information in relation to my second request:
'2. Please provide the total number of South Wales Police officers who have had their names added to the (i) Barred List and (ii) Advisory List.'
You responded:
'South Wales Police currently have 58 on the barred list and 8 on the advisory.'
I seek clarification.
The figure of 58 is significantly higher than the figure of 38 published by the College of Policing:
'Table 2: Regular police officers placed on the barred list between 15 December 2017 and 31 March 2022'
https://www.college.police.uk/ethics/bar...
My request was made in December 2022, so perhaps 20 officers were added to the list between 1/4/22 and the date of my request, or perhaps you provided more recent accurate information.
Please provide the date on which the number of SWP officers on the barred list reached 58.
Yours sincerely,
J Roberts

Dear South Wales Police,
I have just noticed that the College of Policing publication also includes 8 police staff (Table 12) and 5 Special Constabulary officers (Table 7), so this may explain some of the difference.
