Chief Constable letter of apology and payments

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Lancashire Constabulary should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Lancashire Constabulary,

How many times in 2015, 2016, 2017 & 2018 did the Chief Constable issue a letter of apology to a civilian?

How many times in 2015, 2016, 2017 & 2018 was the Chief Constable’s letter of apology accompanied by a payment?

How much money in 2015, 2016, 2017 & 2018 was paid in out of court settlements prior to action?

Please can you provide this information in a month and year format of the requested information.

I would also request copies of all letters, I understand that confidential information will be redacted. If this part of my request is denied for any reason, please let me know asap. I would be satisfied if only the top and bottom of such letters be provided (header and footer)

When the Chief Constable sends a letter of apology to a civilian, is it on formal Lancashire police letterhead or is it on mock letterhead.

If it is not possible to provide the information requested due to the information exceeding the cost of compliance limits identified in Section 12, please provide advice and assistance, under your Section 16 obligations, as to how I can refine my request to be included in the scope of the Act. In any case, if you can identify ways that my request could be refined please provide further advice and assistance to indicate this.

I look forward to your response within 20 working days, as stipulated by the Act.

If you have any queries please don’t hesitate to contact me via email and I will be happy to clarify what I am asking for.

Yours faithfully,

Paul Ponting

Someone is not telling the truth here

Dear Lancashire Constabulary,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Lancashire Constabulary's handling of my FOI request 'Chief Constable letter of apology and payments'.

Search facilities within email has come on leaps and bounds and will reduce the target emails significantly relating to content. From this point, it would require a quick skim of emails to identify the ones requested. I do not believe it would take 3 minutes per email this, I believe is artificially high to avoid providing the data.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/c...

Yours faithfully,
