Nash Colin (Queen Elizabeth Hospital NHS Trust),

Dear Mr Clarke,

Please accept my apologies for the delayed reply. This Trust has been receiving many more requests for information than previously and I have not been able to respond to requests as quickly as would have wished. Since 1 April Queen Elizabeth Hospital NHS Trust is now part of a new merged Trust, South London Healthcare. We have made some changes which we hope will increase the resources available to FOI and enable us to provide a swifter service.

Please find below the information you requested, with regard to Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

At present we count patient numbers using financial years - April to March. I can provide figures for 2006-2007 and 2007-2008. The 2008-2009 figures have not been produced yet. The number of patients who received chemotherapy in these years is:

2006-2007 = 365

2007-2008 = 374

I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you have any further questions. If however you believe the provisions of the FOI Act have not been properly applied you can appeal by contacting the Chief Executive through this email address, setting out your reasons.

I am also following up on your second request and hope to have an answer for you shortly.

Colin Nash
Deputy Trust Board Secretary
South London Healthcare NHS Trust
