Chemicals - Human health and safety
Dear Yorkshire Water Services Limited,
I would like a list of ANY chemical that is added to water in West Yorkshire in ANY of your treatment works at ANY stage from gathering water to it exiting a tap in my house.
Do you not think it is fair that I know exactly what chemicals you use so I can make an informed decision as to whether or not I drink the water supplied by you
I regard my health as my number 1 priority so I would like to gain ALL information about what I drink.
Please do not point me to your website, that shows no information relevant.
Please do not respond with:
Yorkshire Water, in common with other water supply companies in England
and Wales, operates in accordance with a Water Supply Licence, as set out
in the Water Act 2014. The water industry is highly regulated at all
levels, including the use of chemicals and materials used in the treatment
and conveyance of potable water.
The chemicals used by Yorkshire Water in the treatment of potable water is
proprietary information.
And if you have to conform with
BS EN standards and are controlled by the regulator under Regulation 31 of The Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations 2016,
Then I see NO Reason why you could not supply me with the chemical names of ANY substance you add to the water.
Yours faithfully,
Parker
