Checking for dishonesty and/or conflict of interests of contributors to BBC programmes
To British Broadcasting Corporation,
1. Please provide the BBC policy on conflict of interests.
2. Please state what background checks were made about contributors and what interests they declared prior to the episode of Newsround on 25.02.21.
3. Please provide any BBC policy regarding Ethics and the Nolan Principles eg, would a programme be allowed to invite comments from any person who had failed to uphold the Nolan Principles and/or had been proved to be an evidenced serial liar?
4 If a programme was later found to have included such a person, what action would be taken if the BBC was provided with irrefutable evidence from public records of their misconduct? For instance would their contribution be removed with an explanation for removal?
Thank you
Christine England
