Charity Status Update
Dear Charity Commission for England and Wales,
I am enquiring on the Status of a Charity Application, Alfie James Evans Foundation. I believe an Application has been made and withdrawn and there is concern that money raised for the Foundation, some £142,000 is not being used as described by Sarah Evans in the Gofundme Account and paypal donations. I believe there has been a Total of 3 seperate applications regarding this and wish for an update on progress.
Yours faithfully,
A Bryant

Dear Charity Commission for England and Wales,
Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.
I am writing to request an internal review of Charity Commission for England and Wales's handling of my FOI request 'Charity Status Update'.
In the response you have disclosed information about 1 request but from information given by Family members there has been 3 applications made by Sarah Evans, Loll Waterson and Thomas Evans/Kate James. The family notified the people who had donated that the 1st application was made in May/June 2018. I would like the information on all applications recieved please, Loll Waterson stated she withdrew her application because she was not prepared to be party to the Fraud being committed.
On the subject of the Funding there was a Private collection but this changed in 2017 and became a collection if donations for Treatment/Diagnosis for the child, subsequently £143,000 was raised, not including donations made to paypal accounts/bank accounts and a shop that was set up on FB selling memorabilia. It states very clearly that the above amount was to be used for the setting up of a Charity/Foundation in the childs name and donations carried on in that belief until it was closed. Another Fund page was then created asking for £200,000 to set up the Foundation, this amount has been reduced twice and now states £5000 (the balance stands at approx £550). It has to come light after many months of donators questioning where the £143,000 that this was spent mainly on various family members. The Father has stated in the media very recently that the raised funds (£143,000) are still available for the Foundation, the Aunt Sarah Evans has stated that the remainder of the money (amount never disclosed) is in a savings account again waiting for the Charity to be set up. There are many people that are concerned by the conflicting stories relating to this Charity/Foundation that was to be started and its time that the true and complete facts were made available. It is unfortunately events like this that are affecting people donating to genuine Charities and genuine causes. I look forward to your response and should you need any information to confirm that this information is correct I will be happy to submit this. I am sure that the Family can confirm these details about the various applications and the fact that the Funding page/shop etc were claiming funds were collected for the impending Charity Status.
