Dear Sir/Madam
Thank you for your email of 22^nd February 2018. I apologise for the delay
in my reply.
You requested the following information:
“Please could you provide me with a spread sheet detailing email, address,
charity number, phone number, and website address for registered charities
with annual turnovers of £50,000 – £500,000”
By “annual turnover” I have taken this to mean 50k-500k income in the last
reported financial year irrespective of what year that financial year was.
The above information is recorded on our website within the individual
charity listings as such I have treated your request as a data extract
request. Please find the specific data requested in the attachment to this
email. Please note we may not hold each detail requested for every charity
i.e some may not have a recorded web address.
For future information the publicly available information from the
Register of Charities is now freely available to download from the Charity
Commission website via the following link:
[1]http://data.charitycommission.gov.uk/def...
The Register is supplied as BCP unix compressed files. You will need to
have, or have on hand, expertise in creating a database into which
the records may be imported. If you are familiar with relational database
management systems using SQL, you should have no difficulty with the file.
We are not able to offer further specific advice on how to process the
data or process the data for you.
The register of charities is being redesigned in line with user feedback
to:
· include contact details and other key information on overview pages
· let you use filters to narrow your search
· give you the option to download filtered searches as a CSV
· allow you to download up to 5,000 results
· allow you to search on mobile devices
Please try out the 'beta' prototype - your feedback will help develop the
new tool
[2]Try out the charity search beta
If your requirement is for a more limited dataset this is available via
the Advanced Search facility in the web register (at:
[3]http://apps.charitycommission.gov.uk/sho...).
Yours faithfully
Jan Provost (Freedom of Information and Complaints manager)
