Information on the ICO website some may find useful:

"Can an organisation charge a fee?

In most circumstances, they should give you a copy of your personal information free of charge.

However, an organisation can charge a reasonable fee to cover their administrative costs – if they think your request is ‘manifestly unfounded or excessive’.

They can also charge a fee if you ask for further copies of your information following a request.

If an organisation can charge a fee, the one-month time limit does not begin until they have received the fee."

Aware of same. The updated detailed guidance issued 21 Oct, states "it is good practice to establish an unbiased set of criteria for charging fees which explains: ……… and you should make this criteria available upon request …" . Therefore I wanted to see what criteria the ICO considered appropriate.

You only need a criteria for charging a fee if you have a policy of charging fees in some circumstances. The ICO answered your question - they don’t charge fees at all, hence no requirement for criteria to establish fees.

thanks I am aware - I wanted to see if the ICO had any criteria and they have confirmed they dont.
