FOI Requests (RM1) Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Dear Ms Atkinson

I write in response to your request dated 13 January 2016 to seek some
clarification.

You indicate that you would like to know about charges made in accordance
with the Immigration Act 2014.  This Act introduced an NHS immigration
health surcharge to be paid by temporary migrants and students.  This
payment is collected by the Home Office.    Health surcharge payers are
able to access the National Health Service in the same way as a permanent
resident, i.e. they will receive NHS care generally free of charge but may
be charged for services a permanent resident would also pay for, such as
dental treatment and prescription charges in England.

Any charges made for overseas visitors care are made and collected in
accordance with the NHS Hospital Charging Regulations 2015.  It may be
possible to answer questions 1 and 2 but it will be based on the monies
collected under these Regulations.

Please could you confirm that you would like us to proceed with your
request but amended as above.

Yours sincerely
