The request was successful.

To whom it may concern,

I am writing to make an open government request for all the information to which I am entitled under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. In order to assist you with this request, I am outlining my enquiry as specifically as possible. If however this request is too wide or unclear, I would be grateful if you would contact me as I understand that under the Act, you are required to advise and assist requesters.

I would like to know how the fire and rescue service has changed since 2015.

As such, I would like to know the number of fire stations operated by the fire and rescue service in the years 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019.

I would also like a list of the fire stations which closed down each year and a list of the fire stations which opened each year in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019.

Finally, I would like to know the number of full-time and part-time staff employed by the fire and rescue service in each of the years 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019.

I understand that under the Act, I should be entitled to a response within 20 working days. I would be grateful if you would confirm in writing that you have received this request.
I would really appreciate your help with this request – I look forward to hearing from you.

Dear Ramzy

Further to your request of 16 January 2020, which I have treated as a
Freedom of Information request, please find below our response to the
information that you requested.

Query:

I would like to know the number of fire stations operated by the fire and
rescue service in the years 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019.

I would also like a list of the fire stations which closed down each year
and a list of the fire stations which opened each year in 2015, 2016,
2017, 2018 and 2019.

Finally, I would like to know the number of full-time and part-time staff
employed by the fire and rescue service in each of the years 2015, 2016,
2017, 2018 and 2019.

Response:

In 2015, Dorset Fire and Rescue Service had 26 fire stations and Wiltshire
Fire and Rescue Service had 24 fire stations.

Dorset Fire and Rescue Service and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service
combined to form Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service on 1 April
2016, and the new combined service had 50 fire stations.

No fire stations in Dorset or Wiltshire were opened or closed between 2015
and 2019 inclusive.
