Dear Ordnance Survey Limited,

I am interested in understanding what historical changes to maps have been requested by either the Ministry of Defence or Defence Infrastructure Organisation. I am requesting copies of all requested changes. If possible I would also wish to see copies of communications that give summary reason(s) for such changes.

The areas in question are typically marked "Danger Area" or "Managed Access".

The scope of this request should be limited to the following areas and dates:

Area of interest: All areas of military land that fall within the definition of the Aldershot and District Military Lands Byelaws (1976). Examples of such areas can be found at SU 91462 53712, SU 83690 51453, SU 83981 58449 & SU 92237 59809. This list is not exhaustive but I can supply such a list if necessary.

Dates: From 1st January 2017 to 31st December 2020

Thank you for your email of 21 March 2021 requesting information from
Ordnance Survey in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)
2000, as set out in the extract below:

I confirm that Ordnance Survey does hold some of the information you have
requested. 

 

Please find attached a copy of the data for the Aldershot and District
Military Lands which shows all the changes the Ministry of Defence
supplied to Ordnance Survey in 2020.  The information is in ArcMap format
and will need to be opened in ArcMap, if you are unable to access it in
this format please contact us and we will endeavor to assist you as best
we can.

review where you believe Ordnance Survey has:

o Failed to tell you whether or not we hold the information

o Failed to correctly apply an exemption or exception

 

The Internal Review Officer will not have been involved in the
original decision. They will conduct an independent internal review and
will inform you of the outcome of the review normally within 20 working
days, but exceptionally within 40 working days, in line with the
Information Commissioner’s guidance. 

The Internal Review Officer will either: uphold the original decision,
provide an additional explanation of the exemption/s applied or release
further information, if it is considered appropriate to do so.
