I refer to my email dated 14 August 2015 acknowledging receipt of your
Freedom of Information request for the following information concerning
Chancer Repair Liability (CRL) and I reply to each one of your questions
in the same numbering order as follows:-

 

(1) The total number of CRLs registered to date.

 

We have received applications for notices relating to Chancel Repair
Liability affecting 9543 registered titles plus 168 applications for
cautions against first registration affecting unregistered land. Please
note that this information is from when we first started centrally
collating CRL application data in May 2012 to the present date 18 August
2015.

 

(2)  An analysis of (1) on an English county by county basis.

 

Please see attached table showing breakdown by county.

 

(3) The number of individual Parochial Church Councils in total who have
made CRL registrations.

 

179 Parochial Church Councils have made applications relating to Chancel
Repair Liability.

 

The data provided has been collected from a variety of sources as part of
the land registration process. Whilst we make every effort to ensure that
the data we provide is as accurate as possible we cannot guarantee it is
fit for your intended purpose or use.

 

It is also subject to Crown copyright and there may be other important
publication restrictions, such as those concerning data protection. This
means that if you intend to publish or quote from the data supplied, you
