Chalgrove Oxon - fencing replacement 2012
Dear Defence Estates,
Recently a small tri-angular parcel of land belonging to the MOD at the Western end of the village of Chalgrove has had a complete replacement of fencing and c90% of concrete posts. This work also included the replacement of over-hanging barbed wire. The area concerned is to the S. of the so-called Chalgrove by-pass and encloses meadow/pasture: no buildings.
To the immediate N is Chalgrove airfield - MOD owned, leased to Martin Baker. I assume the parcel of land is part of the estate of Chalgrove airfield.
I would like to know how much this work has cost the Tax -payer, and why someone thought this expenditure necessary. In my opinion this piece of land is of no use whatsoever to the MOD so why not sell it to a local farmer to graze sheep etc?
Michael Pritchard
(Concerned tax payer)
