1] what is the current annual salary of your Chairman of The Board at
Dumfries and Galloway College? The Chairman gets paid £200 for every 7.5
hrs day up to a maximum of 104 days (maximum of £20,800)
a] what was the annual salary of your Chairman of The Board at Dumfries
and Galloway College when he first took up post? The Salary of the
Chairman when first started was same as for question 1 - Paid £200 for
every 7.5 hrs day up to a maximum of 104 days (maximum of £20,800)
 
b] how many increases in salary has your Chairman of The Board at Dumfries
and Galloway College received since working for Dumfries and Galloway
College? Please show the increases by amount and during which month of
which year. There have been no increases in salary during this time.
2] total gross amount [remuneration] paid to your Chairman of The Board at
Dumfries and Galloway College from merger until present date?  The College
did not merge as part of regionalisation.  Since the Chair was appointed
in March 2014 the gross remuneration paid is £48,378 (3^rd March 2014 to
31/7/2016 inclusive).
3] total gross amount paid to your Chairman of The Board at Dumfries and
Galloway College for expenses from merger until present date? The College
has not merged.  The Chairman has claimed a total of £4,989.95 in expenses
since 3^rd March 2014 until 31 July 2016.
a] please break down the detail of expenses in the relevant category to
show travel [plane, train, car], food, drink, gifts, etc, and all figures
to include VAT where relevant. Our finance system does not record the
breakdown.  We would need to troll through our manual records to analyse
as per your categories. 
b] please state the agreed rate per mile paid to your Chairman of The
Board at Dumfries and Galloway College for travel expenses The mileage
rate is 45p per mile
c] please state how many miles your Chairman of The Board at Dumfries and
Galloway College has claimed from merger until present date? The College
has not merged therefore no expenses claimed for merger.
4] how many days per week is your Chairman of The Board at Dumfries and
Galloway College contracted to work and what is his hourly rate? In the
appointment letter from Scottish Government the Chair should not exceed
104 days a year.  The Chair receive a fee of £200 for every 7.5 hrs
(excluding meal breaks) up to a maximum of £20,800 a year.
 
5] how long is the Chairman of The Board at Dumfries and Galloway College
expected to stay in post? Appointed until March 2018
a] when did your Chairman of The Board at Dumfries and Galloway College
start and when is he expected to complete his tenure? Started 3 March 2014
for a 4 year period.
b] once the tenure for your Chairman of The Board at Dumfries and Galloway
College is complete, is there scope for him to complete a further,
additional tenure? Scottish Government appoints the Chair through public
appointments process and not appointed by the College.  At the time of
writing this the College has no information on the possibility of the
Chair term in office being extended.
c] if there is scope for a further, additional tenure, who makes this
decision and what criteria is the decision based upon? Scottish Government
– this is a public appointment.
