CEO Dentistry Complaints

The request was partially successful.

Dear Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust,

Please can you provide me with information regarding patient complaints considered by the CEO, who I have named as Dr Ian Abbs:

How many complaints have the department received ? I would like a total figure and monthly figure taking this back to 2016.

I would like this in an accessible format.

Finally of those complaints received, can I have a full list of the reasons patients lodged in their complaints, I.e Dentist Decisions

And then another list of the outcomes? for example upheld or declined? also how many of those went to the health ombudsman

Yours faithfully,

Daniel Harris

Dear Sir/Madam,

The FOI team has revised all 8 FOI requests sent and we will be treating as 1 request, since they are related to the same department.

Kind regards,

Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for your e-mail. Given the current situation with the second surge of the coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak we are taking steps to protect our patients, staff and any visitors. This means we have very limited resources to respond to requests for information and ask that you consider the following before making a request.

If you are making a Freedom of Information request please consider if this is vital at this point in time and if you can cancel or delay asking for information until we have returned to normal service. If your request is essential please consider requesting the minimum information possible. We are unlikely to be able to respond in a timely manner as the majority of requests are answered by the clinical and operational staff within the various departments in the Trust. These are often the same staff who are busy dealing with patient care, directly treating and managing Covid-19 patients or are supporting these staff and the service in the care of patients.

Please let us know if you have any further queries or information related to this request. Our reference number for the request is FOI 101632; please quote this on all correspondence.

Thank you for your consideration. If you have any further queries, please contact the Information Governance department at [email address].

Yours faithfully,

Freedom of Information Team

Dear :FOI,

The reason I did the individually is because of the rule around the time you can spend on FOI's. You have chosen to bulk the FOI's as one FOI, Just to be clear, it would be inappropriate to then decline or refuse info from the FOI Request due to timeframes now.

I look forward to a reply within the legal time limits, I will be referring this immediately to the ICO once the 20 days limit is up for them to contact you to comply as this is now a health complaint regarding this department and the management.

Yours sincerely,

Daniel Harris
