Dear Danielle

Thank you for your request for information from Durham University.
Colleagues have provided the information below in response to your
questions.

Please could you provide test marks for the 11+ tests set by The
University of Durham's Centre for Evaluation and Monitoring (CEM) On 16th
September 2017 please.

For each candidate within Redbridge borough test, I would like to request
the following information

1. School name , Woodford county girls high school or Ilford county boys
high school  Please 2.

For each of the sub-tests set (numeracy, verbal reasoning and
non-reasoning) I would like to request anonymised information as below, a.
The raw test scores for each test before any age weighting is added b. The
candidate’s birth month (or age in months if this is how it is recorded)
c. The standardised scores for both final as well as for each of the sub
tests .

e.The average raw as well as Standardised score for each sub tests as well
as final score by birth month .

Please refer to the document attached, noting:

a)   CEM will only release standardised scores for the Redbridge Grammar
Schools for the reason below.

The University believes that disclosure of the raw scores requested would
prejudice the commercial interests of the University.  The University
believes that disclosure of the raw scores would enable both competitors
and tutors to understand CEM’s methods in a way that would undermine CEM’s
ability to reduce the effects of coaching for its tests so undermining its
unique selling point.  It is this unique selling point that has resulted
in CEM achieving considerable commercial success in this market.

b)     Birth month is included.

c)   Standardised scores included.   CEM will not release average raw
score for the reasons stated above.  Average standardised score for each
subtest is 100.  Final score by birth month – information not held (we do
not hold information in that format).

If you are dissatisfied with the University’s response to your freedom of
information request, you can ask us to internally review our handling of
your request, including the application of any exemptions applied.  To do
this, please email [1][Durham University request email] or write to:
