Dear Catherine,
Firstly, I am the Reverend Mark Paul, not "Mark" - as I am elderly, I prefer to be addressed by my proper title.
Secondly, I am astonished that you are unaware of what CEA and EBLAC stand for.
Thirdly, I am outraged that I am to be charged for this information which should be in the public domain by rights.

CEA = Clinical Excellence Awards
EBLAC = Employer Based Local Awards Committee

I believe EBLAC is also often referred to as LAC = Local Awards Committee.

In short, it is the Consultants who make up the LAC who decide which of their fellow Consultants is to be awarded a Clinical Excellence Award.

Yours sincerely,

Mark Paul

FOI, Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

Dear Reverend Mark Paul

Thank you for your email clarifying the acronyms that you used in your request, I am pleased to inform you that we are now able to proceed with your request and you should expect a response within 20 working days of receipt (26th November) and no later than 21st December 2018.

With regards to possible charges, it is standard practice for the Trust to advise all requestors that in some circumstances a fee may be payable, this is not a standard charge and is only applied in certain circumstances, for instances if the time required to collate the information to formulate a response exceeds 18 hours, should a fee be applicable to a request we will issue a formal fees notice before commencing the work.

Kind regards
Catherine

Dear Ms Catherine Wright,
Thank you for the enclosed letter from Ms Sharleen Matheson, your Interim Information Governance Lead.

I find it incredible that she was unable to extract the information I require and absolutely preposterous that she suggests that the costs would exceed £450.

Kindly give me the following information instead - this should not take more than 10 minutes to accomplish, especially as the 2018 Awards were made recently as I understand.

The information should be easy to obtain from the office of the CEO and/or the office of the Medical Director, both of whom I am told are an essential part of the EBLAC Committee in their capacities as CEO and Medical Director.

1) The list of Consultants who have been allocated CEA Awards for 2018

2) The names and specialities of EBLAC Committee members for the 2018 Awards

Yours sincerely,
Reverend Mark Paul

Dear Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust's handling of my FOI request 'CEA Awards and EBLAC Committee members'.

It is absolutey unacceptable that my latest FOI request submitted on 16 December has still not been responded to. If I have not received a reply by close of business today, you will be hearing from my solicitors.

The information I have asked for should be readily attainable within 10 minutes or less, so there is no excuse.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/c...

Yours faithfully,
Reverned Mark Paul
